Good to know

Questions, answered

Booking and payment

Are prices per person?

No. You charter the whole yacht for your group. Prices include 6% VAT, the yacht, your captain and fuel for up to 70 nautical miles.

Is the price the total, or are there extras?

The tour price covers the yacht, captain and fuel. Waiting time while you are ashore, for example at lunch, is charged at half the hourly rate. A welcome drink, catering, a private chef and restaurant meals can be added as extras.

How do we pay? Is there a deposit?

You can pay by invoice, PayPal or card. No deposit is needed.

Can companies pay by invoice?

Yes. Companies are welcome to pay by invoice.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel 61 days or more before your charter for a full refund. Cancellations 31 to 60 days before departure are charged 50% of the charter fee. Cancellations 30 days or less before departure are charged the full fee.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular summer dates go first, so book as soon as you know your date. Short-notice requests are welcome too. Just ask.

On board

What is the best way to see the Stockholm archipelago?

From the water. Many of the 25,000 islands can only be reached by boat, and on a private yacht you go at your own pace, through narrow straits to island harbours like Vaxholm, Grinda and Sandhamn. You choose the route, and your captain tells you about what you pass. Our day trips start in central Stockholm and last from three to eight hours.

Do we need any boating experience?

No. Captain Kaj drives the yacht and plans the route.

Where do we board?

Pricing starts and ends at Strandvägen in central Stockholm. We can pick you up and drop you off at any jetty, including many hotel quays.

Is there a toilet on board?

Yes. Both yachts have a bathroom with toilet and shower.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes, your own food and drinks are welcome. We can also arrange catering or a private chef on board.

Are children welcome?

Yes. There are life jackets for everyone on board, children included.

Is smoking allowed?

No. Both yachts are smoke-free.

Can we bring our dog?

Sorry, no animals on board, out of consideration for guests with allergies.

What should we wear and bring?

A few practical tips to make your trip as comfortable as possible:

  • Wear soft-soled shoes on board. They help keep the deck clean and well maintained.
  • The flybridge is often the best spot for the views, but it can be windier up there. Bring a windproof jacket or a sweater.
  • Don't forget sunglasses, a cap or hat, and sunscreen. The sun feels stronger out on the water.
  • There are blankets and life jackets on board for all guests.
  • We also have snacks and drinks on board, so you can relax and enjoy the trip.

Weather and water

What if the weather turns?

Both yachts have an enclosed salon, so the trip goes ahead in light rain. In rough weather your captain adjusts the route or we agree a new date.

Will I get seasick?

Most routes run through the sheltered inner archipelago, where the water is usually calm.

Can we swim?

Yes. We anchor in quiet coves and you swim from the platform. In high summer the water is often around 18 to 22 °C.

When is the best time for a sunset cruise?

In June and July the sun sets around 10 pm, so evening cruises are long and light. In August and September sunsets come earlier and are just as beautiful.

Special occasions

Can you help with a proposal or a wedding?

Yes. Kaj can arrange flowers, champagne and a photographer, and find a beautiful spot for the moment.

Can we have dinner at an island restaurant?

Yes. We take you to the restaurant, wait while you eat and bring you back. Waiting time is charged at half the hourly rate.
